Immune Booster Tea is not only great for your health but it is also deliciously Good!
In this post, I show you how to make your own homemade ginger lemon honey tea from scratch with instructions, tips, and tricks.
i have been having a mild sore throat and decided to create this tea to help it. This tea has saved me and after one day my throat is already feeling amazing! If you are Vegan and don’t want to use honey you can substitute it with Maple Syrup or Blackstrap Molasses
Come on! Look at this picture and tell me that this doesn’t already make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
Ingredients Suggestions
For this Immune Booster Tea, I strongly suggest using real ginger instead of the powdered ginger but if you don’t have it, it’s okay to use the powder.
Green Tea Bag preferred organic.
Ginger has anti-inflammatory properties, so it can help the digestion and a sore throat at the same time.
Again, I strongly suggest that you use fresh lemon juice but if you only have artificial lemon juice, that will work too.
Lemon Juice is rich in Vitamin C and that means antioxidants. This helps to boost your immune system.
For the Honey, I use RAW Honey but you can use any honey if you like and it will work just as good. The honey really helps because it creates a thick layer when the tea goes down your throat.
Add ons
If you are anything like me…then you like spicy. If you do, you can add a pinch of cayenne or turmeric while boiling the water.
How to Make This Immune Booster Tea
First Peel the ginger and if you choose to add the turmeric, also peal and put into water. Bring it to a boil, once ready strain it, and disregard the chunks of turmeric and ginger.
Pour it in your favorite teacup. add Lemon juice to taste, add the green tea bag, and your desired amount of honey.
And that is it friends! Enjoy the tea while warm or if you prefer you can wait for it to reach room temperature and drink it then.
I’ve noticed that for me it’s okay to have my tea on an empty stomach, it doesn’t bother me at all. Everyone is different so if it bothers you don’t drink on an empty stomach.
